"Sit Down, Shut Up" Returns

As our millions of regular ColtonAboud.com visitors know, we worked on an animated show called "Sit Down, Shut Up" created by Mitch Hurwitz. Fox will air nine new episodes of SD,SU beginning Saturday night, September 12th at midnight (Eastern and Pacific). Technically, that would be Sunday morning, the 13th. Right? If you set your DVR incorrectly, we will not be held responsible for whatever infomercial or rerun of "COPS" you end up watching.

The second episode of this run is "The Taming of the Dude," credited to yours truly. So take special pains to watch/avoid that one as per your preference. It is scheduled to air on September 19th. Or rather, the 20th. Isn't it? Look, just record thirty-six hours of Fox starting Friday evenings, and you'll be fine.

New C&A Silliness on VH1

Your friends Colton & Aboud are on VH1's new pop culture pundit fest "The Great Debate." Catch the premiere Monday, July 6 at 10pm ET/PT. New episodes air at 10pm the rest of the week. And reruns will appear for all eternity.

In other news, "Puppy Love," the infamous Punchie-Pikachu video from Modern Humorist, will air as part of the new MTV series "DJ & the Fro." You can see the glorious wrongness during episode 108. But if you can't wait that long...

Meanwhile, in the world of books, we urge you to buy a copy of Ad Nauseam: A Survivor's Guide to American Consumer Culture. Yes, we appreciate the irony of giving you the hard sell on a book devoted to critiquing consumerism. Edited by C&A pals Carrie McLaren and Jason Torchinsky, "Ad Nauseam" collects the best writing from the underground magazine Stay Free! Aboud was an occasional contributor to SF! And the book features this photo of Colton:

"Sit Down, Shut Up" Premieres April 19th on Fox

We invite you to watch and enjoy Sit Down, Shut Up, the new animated comedy on Fox (Sundays, 8:30pm E/P starting 4/19/09). Mitch "Arrested Development" Hurwitz created the show which focuses on the worst high school teachers in the universe. Or, at least Florida. The cast includes Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Will Forte, Kristin Chenoweth, Henry Winkler, Kenan Thompson, Cheri Oteri, Nick Kroll and Tom Kenny. Oh, now you're interested.

Available Now: "Melrose Place" the Third Season on DVD. The set includes our feature, "Everything You Need to Know About Melrose Place." Amazon calls it an "affectionate skewering," but we prefer this review: "...a recap of the show told by two people who seem to have as low of an opinion of the show as I do."
